He wrote, “Paytm biggest beneficiary of PM’s announcement. Next day PM appears in its ads. Whats the deal, Mr PM?”

The tweet came in the wake of full page advertisements of Paytm with Narendra Modi’s picture on them post the announcement that Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes will not stand as legal tender any longer. The announcement, according to the Prime Minister was made to combat the problem of black money India has long been facing. However, many people have showed concern over the decision and have claimed that the decision overlooks the situation of people who do not yet have enough documents to open a bank account. Paytm, which started as an online payment firm saw a 435% increase in overall traffic within hours of PM Modi’s announcement.
