The Aam Aadmi Party today found itself in yet another controvery when a Delhi woman lodged a complaint against AAP MLA Dinesh Mohaniya who is already in the line of fire for failing to provide potable water in his constituency.

Delhi Police has lodged an FIR against Dinesh Mohaniya under Section 506 (criminal intimidation), Section 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and Section 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code at the Neb Sarai Police Station.

Subhash Shukla, the Dinesh Mohaniya’s PA told FE Online,”Woman who has lodged complaint against Dinesh Mohaniya is part of tanker mafia. Delhi Police is keen to file FIR against AAP MLAs without any proof.”

MLA got a shot in arm from his constituency resident who told FE Online that no one can raise finger on his character.

“I have worked with him for many years so I know him well that he cannot misbehave with any one,” said a lcoal.

Dinesh Mohaniya was vendor of visiting cards, notebook and pamphlets before entering into politics. He worked in MJ Printer owned by his brother.

His constituency Sangam Vihar has been facing acute water shortage since long time but no MLAs irrespective of political parties have addressed water supply grievance.

A local resident close to AAP MLA Dinesh Mohaniya told FE online that Gupta Colony in Sangam Vihar is still in the grip of acute water shortage.

“Dinesh Mohaniya is the vice-chairman of Delhi Jal Board but has utterly failed to lay sewer line in the colony as sewarage ovelflows on the streets,” rued another resident from Sangam Vihar.

Subhash Shukla said that due to Nation Green Tribunal (NGT) order no new sewer line can be laid in the area.

Residents have to pay Rs 50 per household for borewell water being supplied there once a week. Vote bank card is being played out in Sangam Vihar constituency as Gupta Colony is infested by Mauryas who are considered the vote bank of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).

Subhash Shukla, told FE Online, “There is no pipeline in H,D and J Block area of Sangam Vihar, therefore local committees formed by the respective blocks supply tubewell water and charge compensation.”

“Pipeline water is being supplied from Sonia Vihar Water Treatment Plant in rest of the area in Sangam Vihar every day for two hours,” claimed a local resident.

“I have reined in water mafia who were running their business of supplying water to households due to irregular water supply,” said MLA Dinesh Mohaniya and added, “now filter water is being supplied in the area.”
