Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Thursday launched a verbal attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of advocating to end reservation and claiming that the BJP reveres Dalit icon B.R. Ambedkar with devotion.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has claimed that Gandhi opposes reservation for historically disadvantaged groups, citing his comments at a US university where he stated that his party would consider abolishing the quota system when India is a “fair place.”

“The Congress leader on a foreign land has made his party’s thoughts crystal clear on reservation. Rahul Gandhiji has said that the Congress will end reservation (given by Dr Ambedkar) if it comes to power,” Scindia told reporters in Gwalior.
A close aide of Gandhi for many years, Scindia joined the BJP in 2020 and was later appointed as a Union minister.
“I want to caution the brothers and sisters from Dalit and tribal communities. If Congress comes (to power), it will disrespect them the way it humiliated Babasaheb Ambedkar when he was alive,” he claimed responding to a query, PTI reported.
The Congress had Dr. Ambedkar, the chief architect of India’s Constitution, defeated in an election and celebrated the victory, he stated. He noted that whenever the BJP formed a government under the leadership of Prime Ministers Atal Bihari Vajpayee or Narendra Modi, it revered Dr. Ambedkar as a deity.

The scion of the former Gwalior kingdom emphasised that PM Modi has been advocating for the development of Dalits and tribals. He mentioned that the Union Cabinet has approved an Rs 80,000-crore project aimed at developing tribal villages across the country.
He slammed Gandhi for stating on foreign soil that his party would abolish reservations. He urged the Dalit and tribal communities to awaken and unite with the BJP to confront the Congress, which he claimed is nearing its end.
