US court has ruled that Donald Trump lacks presidential immunity and can face prosecution for allegedly plotting to overturn the 2020 election. The former president is likely to appeal the decision, potentially taking the case to the Supreme Court, where conservatives have a 6-3 majority. Special Counsel Jack Smith has accused Trump, 77, of conspiring to overturn Joe Biden's victory in the 2020 election and committing fraud to remain in office.
Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary on Tuesday said the government has taken no decision to introduce plastic notes. Efforts to enhance the durability and counterfeit resistance of the Indian banknotes is an ongoing process, he said in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha. As per the RBI Annual Report 2022-23, he said, "The total expenditure incurred on security printing stood at Rs 4,682.80 crore for 2022-23. No cost has been incurred on printing of plastic notes".
