As many as sixteen trade unions, including the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), on Tuesday came together in support of four labour codes at the Labour & Employment Summit–2025 in New Delhi.
“Sixteen Central Trade Unions unanimously resolved to enhance awareness on Labour Codes among workers across the country and counter misinformation relating to the implementation of the four Labour Codes,” the Ministry of Labour and Employment said in statement. The government notified the four labour codes on November 21.
What did the labour and employment minister say?
Addressing the gathering, Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said, “The Labour Codes guarantee minimum wages to all workers, makes appointment letters mandatory, and extends social security coverage to over 40 crore workers. It ensures equal rights and equal opportunities for all women.”

Highlighting the enabling ecosystem that the labour codes will create to uphold workers’ interests and ensure their protection, the minister encouraged trade unions to continue sharing their inputs, and urged them to sensitise workers on the potential of the codes to bring about a transformative impact in their lives.
