Rahul Gandhi addressed his first press conference after becoming Congress party’s president-elect. Gandhi was elected the Congress president on Monday, marking a generational shift in the grand old party and becoming the sixth member of the influential Nehru-Gandhi clan to occupy the post. Gandhi is all set to take over the reins of the party from his mother Sonia Gandhi, who steered it through success and failure for 19 years, the longest in the party’s 132-year history, on December 16. Gandhi is currently in Gujarat for last phase of Assembly Election campaign. The Congress-president designate began his day by seeking Darshan at Shree Jagannathji Temple.
On the other hand, PM Modi is scheduled to fly from Sabarmati river in Ahmedabad to Dharoi dam, and later offer prayers at Ambaji. Also, Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader Hardik Patel is expected to hold an election rally in Nikol.
