India’s peak power demand hit an all-time high of 270.82 GW due to a heatwave and increased use of cooling appliances. Thermal power remains the primary source, followed by solar, hydro, and wind energy. The India Meteorological Department predicts severe heatwave conditions, and experts expect a 5-5.5% growth.
