It may be a case of someone trying to project a youthful, ?with-it? image, but experts say that you can be judged by the ringtone you keep since it is associated to an individual?s values, interests and social outlook. The default ringtone: Using the normal or default ringtone on your phone suggests that you are the type who likes to play it safe. It suggests you do not want your image to be interpreted. Such people are calm, slow and overly careful about their image. Most probably, introverts.
Antique sounds: In this era of smartphones and advanced technology, it is surprising how many people like to use the traditional landline ringtones. What it says about the user is that they are old-fashioned, traditional and even ?anti-technology?! Either that or they are just plain lazy to be bothered with changing the ringtone.
Camouflage ringtone: We can download what are called ?creative sounds? to use as ringtones. Sounds of hands clapping, tap-dancing, marching, typing and similar sounds are known as ?camouflage ringtones?. People who use such ringtones are considered to have a creative edge and also seen as having a humorous side to their personality.
Religious chants: Many people have religious chants or bhajans as ringtones, and it shows they are superstitious, wary of modern trends, and heavily dependent on prayer and some religious being to bring them fortune and guide them through life. Pop hits with obscene lyrics: Such ringtones are chosen by people looking for an adrenaline rush. They are young, cool and funky. They live life on a fast track.
Animal sounds: Some people are serious animal lovers, or dog lovers, but personality-wise, you are seen as someone obsessed and quite silly.
Recorded voices: It could be your baby?s laugh or your wife singing, but having a recorded voice as your ringtone may portray you as family-oriented, but it annoys the hell out of everyone since it defines you as pompous and self-obsessed.
Silent/vibrate: People who keep their phones on silent or vibration mode come across as safe and extra-cautious in life. They do not want to be judged by others so they stay away from choosing a ringtone. In person, they are the silent, introverted type, who will speak only when spoken to.
Classical ringtone: It could be someone pretentious, but generally those who use classical music ringtones come across as individuals who have a taste for the finer things in life. These types may be seen as belonging to the elite, with higher pursuits and goals.
Soft rock/country music: People with country or soft rock music as their ringers are generally seen as being soft and romantic at heart. They are also viewed as being kind and charitable.
Customised ringtone: It shows you have the instincts of a good entrepreneur since such people have taken time to create their own unique ringtone. It shows a creative side as well as someone who wants to to be different.
Theme songs: Whether movies (James Bond) or TV shows, such ringtones suggest a personality that is immature and stuck in a groove.
Jazz: People who love jazz ringtones come across as explorers. They are confident and independent, and not afraid of being seen as non-conformists.
