The Calcutta High Court today revoked the West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s order to curb Durga idol immersion and directed the government to make separate routes for both idol immersion and Muharram processions, according to India Today. The court also questioned the government and said the state cannot hinder a citizen’s right to practice religion on the basis of a mere assumption of law and order disruption, as per PTI.
