Prime Minister Boris Johnson made a surprise visit to Kyiv on Saturday. He not only met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy but also walked along side with him on the battle-scarred streets of the Ukrainian capital. After the meeting, the British Prime Minister announced that the UK will give around 120 armoured vehicles to Ukrainian forces. Johnson lauded the invincible heroism of the people of Ukraine and said that the UK stands firmly with its European partner. Meanwhile, the European Union has reopened its embassy in Kyiv. After suffering heavy losses, Moscow has reshuffled the entire military leadership. Latest reports say that Gen Alexander Dvornikov has been given the overall charge of the military operations in Ukraine.
An intel report by the UK defence department states that Russia is enlisting those who were discharged in 2012 in a bid to bolster the numbers of troops in Ukraine. The West believes that Russia has lost up to 15,000 soldiers in the war.
