With Reliance Industries’ Q2 earnings coming in lower Indian equity indices are expected to open on a gap-down note. While markets ended Monday’s trading session on a higher while consolidating throughout the day. The Nifty 50 closed the session 0.66% higher at 25,128 while the Sensex ended the session 592 points or 0.73% higher at 81,973. The Bank Nifty outperformed, concluding today’s day 645 points or 1.26% higher at  51,817. Here are the top cues to watch for October 15: 

Reliance Industry Q2 Earnings

Reliance Industries reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 16,563 crore, 4.7% lower on year compared to the same period last year. The company posted a consolidated revenue from operations at Rs 2.35 lakh crore against Rs 2.36 lakh crore a year ago in the same quarter. 

CPI

India’s retail inflation, based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI), escalated to a nine-month high of 5.49% due to high food prices. In August, CPI inflation came in at 3.65%, marginally higher than 3.6% the previous month. The previous high was recorded in December 2023 at 5.69 per cent.

Hyundai IPO

The highly anticipated mainboard initial public offering (IPO) of Hyundai Motor India, one of India’s leading auto majors, is set to open for subscription on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Investors will be able to bid for the shares until Thursday, October 17, 2024, with the company expected to make its stock market debut on October 22, 2024.

HCL Technologies Q2 Earnings

HCLTech’s Q2 FY25 net profit rose 11% on year to Rs 4,235 crore. The IT major’s Q2 FY25 revenue from operations rose to Rs 28,862 crore, up 8.2% from a year ago. However, the company’s net profit fell marginally sequentially. On a QoQ, the revenue from operations increased 3%. 

Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy 

Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy reported a net profit of Rs 8.57 crore in Q2 FY25 against a net loss of Rs 54.51 crore in Q2 FY24. The revenue from operations posted a 35.7% jump at Rs 1,030.49 crore on year compared to Rs 759.52 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

Angel One Q2 Earnings

Angel One reported revenue from operations stood at Rs 1514.7 crore in Q2 FY25, an increase of 44% compared to a year ago. Its net profit came in at Rs 423 crore, 39% higher on year.
