The Motorola G04 has officially been launched in India and as we pointed out in our pre-launch report, it’s indeed a Redmi A3 killer smartphone, or at least that is what its impressive spec-sheet seems to suggest. The Moto G04 not only has the better hardware for the most part, it also has far superior software with the latest Android 14 onboard (Motorola in fact claims that it’s the most affordable phone with Android 14). All this and the Moto G04 still costs less than the Redmi which makes it probably one of the best entry-level smartphones you can get in the market today.
Motorola G04 launch: design, specs
The Moto G04 has a body made of PMMA or acrylic glass and comes in a choice of four colours— Concord Black, Sea Green, Satin Blue, and Sunrise Orange. The phone has an IP52 water repellent design and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometrics. Flip over to the front and you’ll find a 6.56-inch 720p IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and hole punch cut-out.
Powering the Moto G04 is the Unisoc T606 processor and a 5,000mAh battery with 15W USB Type-C charging (though Motorola bundles a 10W charger in the box). Configurations available are as follows: 4GB/64GB and 8GB/128GB. For photography, the Moto G04 has a single 16-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera.
Moto G04 launch: price, availability
The Moto G04 starts at Rs 6,999 for 4GB/64GB while the top-end 8GB/128GB model will cost Rs 7,999. General availability is pegged for February 22 (12 PM onwards) across Flipkart, Motorola online and leading retail stores.
