Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton, the British racing driver, who competes in Formula One for Ferrari has confirmed that he got rid of his $16 million luxury car collection. For the seven-time champion, once a celebrated car enthusiast, a new phase has begun.

Hamilton revealed, ahead of his Baku race, that he doesn’t “have any cars anymore.” “I got rid of all my cars. I’m more into art nowadays. If I was going to get a car, it would be the [Ferrari] F40. But that’s a nice piece of art,” he added. Hinting at a potential addition to his now-empty garage, here’s a look at Hamilton’s previously prized possessions.

Lewis Hamilton’s $16 million luxury car collection

The F1 driver had recently purchased two Mercedes-AMG One. One for himself and the other for his father, and he often rolls in his Mercedes-Maybach S6000. Along with these luxe wheels, the Mercedes EQC SUV is also part of his extravagant fleet. The English racecar driver also possesses three Ferraris, including the exclusive 599 SA Aperta, valued at over $2.6 million and restricted to merely 80 models worldwide.

Hamilton has recently bid farewell to his vintage Ford Mustang Shelby, which flaunts an impressive price of $5.3 million. However, the 40-year-old has no more plans to expand his collection as he explores his avenues to collecting art. Ahead of his Melbourne debut, Hamilton revealed his inclination to “design a Ferrari. I want to do an F44. Baseline of an F40, with the actual stick shift. That’s what I’m gonna work on for the next few years.”
