Security forces initiated a search operation in the border area of Jammu district on Friday following reports of suspicious movement. Officials stated that eyewitnesses reported seeing three individuals in uniform, armed and requesting water and to make calls from mobile phones.
In response, security forces heightened alertness and encouraged the public to report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods. A joint operation involving the Army, police, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was launched in the Guda Patan and Kana Chak areas near the Chenab River in the Akhnoor border belt, prompted by community alerts regarding the armed individuals.
Capital markets regulator Sebi announced on Friday that it has officially designated BSE Ltd as a supervisory body for research analysts and investment advisers to oversee their management and operations.
In a circular, Sebi stated, "BSE Ltd has been granted recognition under Regulation 14 of the RA and IA Regulations for the administration and supervision of Research Analysts (RAs) and Investment Advisers (IAs) as RAASB and IAASB, respectively, for a period of five years starting from July 25, 2024."

A second-stage engine on SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket experienced a rare malfunction during a routine Starlink mission on Thursday night, putting the satellites at risk. This incident marks the company's first rocket failure in over seven years.
The Falcon 9 lifted off from Vandenberg Space Force Base at 10:35 PM local time (02:35 GMT) on Thursday, carrying 20 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit. While the rocket successfully reached space, the second-stage engine failed to reignite on its second attempt, preventing the satellites from reaching their intended orbit.

As light rain persisted in parts of Himachal Pradesh, the Meteorological office issued a 'yellow warning' on Friday. It forecasts heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning at isolated places on July 13, 14, 17, and 18. According to the state emergency operation centre, ten roads have been closed due to the rainfall over the past week. Among them, four are in Shimla, and three each are in Mandi and Kangra districts.
Western Railways has collected a massive amount of Rs 52 crores as penalty during intensive checking drives conducted from April to June 2024.The drive was held under the guidance of senior commercial officers.

According to a report, at least 65 people are missing following a landslide in Nepal that swept two buses into a swollen river on Friday. The incident occurred in the Simaltal area along the Narayanghat-Mugling road in Chitwan district. Officials quoted by the myrepublica news portal stated that the buses, carrying 65 passengers, were affected by the landslides into the Trishuli river. Indra Dev Yadav, Chief District Officer of Chitwan, confirmed the occurrence and mentioned that rescue operations have commenced to clear the landslide debris.

Biden also stated that neither polls nor individuals currently suggest he cannot win reelection, indicating this as the sole condition under which he would contemplate ending his presidential bid. “I'm determined on running,” he said. “The fact is that the consideration is that I think I'm the most qualified person to run for president. I beat him (Trum) once and I will beat him again. Secondly.. The idea that senators and congressmen are running for office worrying about the ticket is not unusual and I might add, there were at least five presidents running or incumbent presidents who had lower numbers than I have now later in a campaign,” Biden said.
