The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is likely to release its first list of candidates today. According to reports, senior BJP leader Dharmendra Pradhan and other top leaders are expected to leave for Patna from Delhi, and once they arrive in the national capital, a press conference will be held to make the announcement. NDA finalises seat distribution
The ruling NDA in Bihar has finalised its seat-sharing arrangement. As per the agreed formula, both the BJP and the JD(U) will contest 101 seats each. Among the allies, Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) will contest 29 seats, while Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) and Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) have been allotted 6 seats each.
Mahagathbandhan close to announce its seat-sharing formula
Meanwhile, the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) has almost finalised its seat-sharing arrangement. The alliance includes the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, and the Left parties (CPI-ML, CPI, and CPM). Manoj Sahni’s VIP Party is also expected to announce its position today. Reports suggest that the Grand Alliance may also release its first list of candidates very soon.
Jan Suraaj to release second list soon
On the other hand, Prashant Kishor’s party, Jan Suraaj, is also preparing to announce its second list of candidates today. Reports suggest that the new list may be released either this evening or by Tuesday morning. The list is expected to include names of over 30 candidates. There is also speculation that Kishor may announce whether or not he will contest the election from the Raghopur seat.
