Bajaj Finserv

Bajaj Group said it has completed the acquisition of a 23% stake in its insurance subsidiaries—Bajaj General Insurance and Bajaj Life Insurance—from Allianz SE for Rs 12,190 crore and Rs 9,200 crore, respectively. The acquisition was undertaken by Bajaj Finserv along with Bajaj Holdings & Investment Ltd and Jamnalal Sons Pvt Ltd.

Reliance Industries

Reliance Industries said it will consider buying Venezuelan oil, as per a Reuters report. The Indian petroleum major will consider buying Venezuelan oil if permitted to sell it ​to non-US buyers. “We await clarity on access for ‌Venezuelan oil by non-US buyers and will ‌consider buying ‌the oil in a ‌compliant ‍manner,” a Reliance Spokesperson told Reuters.

IEX

The Electricity Appellate Tribunal (APTEL) is scheduled to hear the Market Coupling case on January 9 at 10:30 am. The hearing comes after Indian Energy Exchange challenged the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission’s (CERC) July 2025 order on day-ahead market (DAM) coupling, which had triggered significant volatility in its stock. IEX’s petition contends that the coupling order was arbitrary, violated principles of natural justice, and threatened its position as the leading platform for price discovery.

Power Mech Projects

Power Mech Projects said that its wholly owned subsidiary, PM Green Private Ltd, has received a major order from West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (WBSEDCL) to set up a 250 MW /1,000 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Goaltore, Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal. The order is structured under the build-own-operate (BOO) model with a 100% off-take guarantee from WBSEDCL.

IREDA

IREDA’s loan book grew by 27.6% from last year to Rs 87,975 crore in Q3 FY26, which is marginally lower than the 31% at which the loan book grew in the first half of this fiscal. IREDA’s disbursements grew by 44.5% during the first nine months of the year to Rs 24,903 crore, while sanctions grew by 29%. Both these metrics grew by 54% and 86% in the first half, respectively.

Highway Infrastructure

Highway Infrastructure has secured an order worth Rs 328 crore from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), marking a significant contract win for the company in the highways operations segment. The order relates to the operation and collection of user fees at the Kaza Fee Plaza on the Chilakaluripet–Vijayawada section of National Highway-16 in Andhra Pradesh.

Bharat Electronics

Bharat Electronics said it has received additional orders worth Rs 596 crore since its last disclosure on January 1, 2026. The major orders include drone detection and jamming systems, mobile communication terminals, software solutions, upgrades, spares, and related services.

Bharat Forge

Bharat Forge said the company and Germany-based Agile Robots SE have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore a strategic collaboration in the field of AI-driven robotics and intelligent industrial automation. Under the proposed collaboration, the two companies will jointly explore opportunities in artificial intelligence-led robotics, combining Bharat Forge’s domain expertise with Agile Robots’ intelligent robots and automation solutions.

Morepen Laboratories

Morepen Laboratories has obtained a stay on the operation of a show-cause notice (SCN) issued by the office of the Commissioner, Central GST & Central Excise Commissionerate, Shimla. In response, Morepen Labs filed a writ petition before the High Court of Himachal Pradesh in Shimla. On January 6, 2026, the high court passed an order granting a stay on the SCN’s operation, which was received by the company on January 8.

Astra Microwave

Astra Rafael Comsys Private Limited, the joint venture between Astra Microwave Products and Rafael Advanced Defence Systems Ltd, Israel, has secured an order worth Rs 275.27 crore (including taxes) from the Indian Air Force (IAF) for the integration and installation of software in aircraft.
