Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election Results Leads 2017 Live Updates: BJP is yet to announce its CM candidate and the final decision could be taken today at the party meeting in Delhi.
Against all odds, BJP emerged victorious in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday as riding on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity the party won a historic 325 seats out of 403. Amit Shah would be a happy man as his strategies have helped BJP to dethrone Samajwadi Party and Akhilesh Yadav in the state. These elections were a massive blow for both BSP as well Congress. BSP could win only 19 seats and Mayawati even demanded re-polling. On the other hand, Congress managed to win just 7 seats in the state which was even less than Apna Dal’s 9 seats. BJP is yet to announce its CM candidate and the final decision could be taken today at the party meeting in Delhi.

7.30 pm: Addressing 1000s of BJP workers, who gathered in the National Capital to honour PM Modi, for steering BJP to a historic victory with his personal charisma, the Prime Minister said, “I see the result of five elections in five states as the foundation of a New India.”

12:30 PM: Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav believes arrogance was the reason behind party’s loss in the elections. Interestingly, he had differences with son and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav going into these elections but backed him to win.
12:08 AM: The final results revealed a massive loss for Bahujan Samaj Party in these seats as the total tally of seats came down from 80 in 2012 to 19 in 2017. The party had fielded 87 Dalit candidates in the state while BJP has fielded only 70.
11:40 AM: Another major news coming from Uttar Pradesh where UP BJP Chief Kehsav Prasad Maurya has revoked the expulsion of Dayashankar Singh who was expelled after his controversial statement on BSP chief Mayawati.

10:38 AM: If the sources are to be believed, Amit Shah’s dominance may not end with a victory in Uttar Pradesh. He is set to make his ‘Congress Mukta Bharat’ dream come true and now targets another 120 Lok Sabha seats where BJP is hardly present. The party is set to begin from scratch in South and East India by building booth-level infrastructure.
