Even as the suspense over the transfer of power in Karnataka to it by the alliance partner JD(S) continued on Sunday, the BJP?s core committee met here to take stock of the situation in the state and formulate party?s strategy in either of the event.
Meanwhile, in Bangalore BJP?s state-incharge Yashwant Sinha met JD(S) supremo HD Deve Gowda and discussed issues troubling the alliance in the way of smooth handing over the baton to the saffron party. After the meeting Sinha and Gowda said they had discussions and will meet again if required.
The core committee meeting, which was chaired by party president Rajnath Singh and was attended by senior leader LK Advani among others, discussed party?s scope of forming the first ever government in a southern state as part of the power-sharing deal with JD (S).
The saffron party insists that the power transfer was ?obvious?. However, a party source said, ?It?s a wait and watch situation. There is nothing much to be done.? Moreover, experts feel that the impressive show by JD(S) in the Urban Local Bodies elections will have its bearing in the parleys between the allies on power transfer.
