XLRI School of Business and Human Resources will observe ?Joy of Giving Week? between September 27 and October 3, by donating 4 lakh dress pieces.

A GiveIndia initiative, the ?Joy of Giving Week? aims to encourage the spirit of volunteerism among corporates, NGOs and educational institutions.

As part of the week, XLRI has planned to mobilise donation and distribution of four lakh pieces of wearable clothes to support its ?Power of Reuse? initative, which is being carried out by the award-winning NGO ?Goonj?, across the country.

The students and faculty of the B-School has, in order to involve ordinary citizens in its clothes collection drive, planned a number of activities including staging musical performances, street shows (nukkad naataks), school competitions, etc.

Tata Steel, Tinplate Company of India, Timken Ltd, Telcon and the Rotary Club have joined XLRI to support the ?Joy of Giving Week?, with local schools and colleges too having pledged to participate in the event.
