Celeste Rivas, a teenage girl who went missing over a year ago, was found dead in the trunk of a Tesla earlier this month. The car belongs to 20-year-old singer D4vd (real name David Anthony Burke).

Now, a neighbour who lived near D4vd is sharing what he saw and says he often saw Celeste and the singer together.

Neighbour says he saw Celeste and D4vd “all the time”

A man who lives next to the Hollywood Hills home where D4vd had been staying told The US Sun, he often saw Celeste and the singer together.

“They were with each other all the time. I thought they were just kids, like 18 or 19 years old. I had no idea anything was wrong.” The neighbour said the two mostly kept to themselves, did not party, and were polite but distant. “Any time I tried to talk to them, they weren’t very engaging,” he added.

The neighbour said he once asked D4vd why he had not fixed the Tesla after it was damaged. “He didn’t really say what happened,” he added.

There were also security cameras outside the home, but it is unclear if they were working. A photo published by The US Sun showed the Ring doorbell camera had been smashed, with broken plastic lying outside the front door.

Who was Celeste Rivas ?

Celeste Rivas, a 15-year-old student from California, went missing on April 5, 2024, from Lake Elsinore when she was just 13.

Her case gained national attention after her decomposed and dismembered remains were found more than a year later, on September 8, 2025, inside a bag in the trunk of a Tesla owned by musician D4vd.

The car had been abandoned in the Hollywood Hills and later towed to a Los Angeles impound lot, where her body was discovered. Celeste, born on July 9, 2010, was identified through dental records during an autopsy.

As of late September 2025, the cause of her death has not been confirmed, and while no formal charges have been filed, police say D4vd is cooperating with the investigation.

Celeste Rivas disappeared from her mother’s home more than a year ago. It’s believed she had been staying with D4vd until her body was found in his black Tesla on September 8.

The car was parked at a Hollywood tow yard when the LAPD discovered her remains inside.

Update on investigation

Police have now launched a homicide investigation, but D4vd has not been arrested or charged. According to reports, he is cooperating with authorities but has not made any public statements about Celeste’s death.

D4vd had been living at the luxury home since February 2024, which was rented by his manager, John Marshall, through Interscope Records.

The $3.6 million house, with a rent of $20,000 a month, was searched by LAPD homicide detectives on September 18. Officers were seen leaving the property with evidence bags.

The owner of the rental home, Mladen Trifunovic, said D4vd’s manager signed the lease but recently asked to end the agreement and began moving out.

“They didn’t want to be there anymore because of the ongoing circumstances,” he told Daily Mail. “I had no idea what was going on until police searched the house,” he added.
