Ola showcases Ferrite Motor at Sankalp 2025

Ola Electric showcased its Ferrite Motor at the Sankalp 2025 event. According to the electric two-wheeler maker, this will help in eliminating the import of magnets with heavy rare earth (HRE).

Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder and CMD, Ola Electric explained that Ola “is accelerating this mission by commercialising 4680 Bharat Cell and rare earth-free motors later this year.”

According to him, this will help create complete supply chain independence and will be deployed in its vehicle starting in Q3 FY26 in a phased manner.

4680 Bharat Cell integration in Ola Vehicles

Ola also highlighted that the  4680 Bharat Cell is being integrated in vehicles starting with S1 Pro+ 5.2 kWh and Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh. That apart, Ola Electric also showcased the Moonshot in Motorcycling – Diamondhead. A futuristic bike with many world firsts, including a hub-centred steering and its own custom silicon. Targeted to launch in CY27. It is expected to be priced Rs 5 lakh and the company also announced its modular Gen 4 platform that will support the next generation of company’s two-, three- and four-wheeler offerings going forward. The Gen 4 platform would also support future Bharat Cell form factors such as 4680, 46100, and 46120, and would be powered by IPM (Internal permanent magnet), FeSynRM (Ferrite Magnet Motors) and Magnetless motors. It would be AI-powered and MoveOS enabled.
