Gold and silver bullion prices have risen more than 2% compared to ten days back on the back of political unrest in South Korea and France. 

“The metal had a brief spike to $2656 on South Korea’s President imposing martial law accusing the opposition of disrupting the working of the administration; however, the metal gave back most of its gains on slightly better-than-expected US JOLTS job openings (October), though prior data was revised lower. Consequently, the US Dollar is slightly firmer, and the yellow metal at $2641 is down around 0.1%. The French Government may collapse today on a no-confidence motion over spending cut issues, which may support the metal to some extent,” said Praveen Singh, Associate Vice President of Fundamental Currencies and Commodities at Mirae Asset Sharekhan.
