Apple has released its first-ever Study with Me video, offering a 1.5-hour guided study session to Mac users. The video, hosted by American actress Storm Reid, student of the University of Southern California (USC), uses the Pomodoro Technique, a proven study method, to help students focus and retain information.
The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method that involves breaking down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. Each interval is known as a pomodoro. After four pomodoros, you take a longer break.
In the Study with Me video, Reid uses the Pomodoro Technique to study for a chemistry exam. She starts by setting a timer for 25 minutes and focusing on her studies. After the timer goes off, she takes a 5-minute break. After four pomodoros, she takes a longer break of 10-15 minutes.
In between the session, she’s also seen enjoying some snacks and engaging in some stretching and light exercises. The video ends with a dance session.
The Study with Me video is available to watch on Apple’s YouTube channel. It is also available in over 20 languages, with subtitles and audio descriptions.
