Amitabh Bachchan, who is five years Amitabh’s junior, made a rare public appearance at the premiere of The Archies, marking the debut of Agastya Nanda, a member of the Bachchan family. Unlike his more famous brother, Ajitabh has kept a low-key profile, staying away from the public eye.
Ajitabh’s journey diverged from the Bollywood path chosen by his elder brother. While Amitabh pursued a career in acting, Ajitabh’s interests led him towards business. Like Amitabh, Ajitabh also attended Sherwood College in Nainital, Uttarakhand, before embarking on his professional journey. After completing his education, Ajitabh worked in India for a few years before establishing himself as a successful entrepreneur in London, according to GQ.
Reportedly, Ajitabh Bachchan holds directorial positions in three companies: Qa Hydrocarbons Private Limited, Asn Hydrocarbons Private Limited, and Asn Innovative Private Limited. His financial success is reflected in an impressive net worth of $20 million (approximately Rs 166.68 crore), as CNBC TV18 and DNA India reported.
Ajitabh is married to Ramola Bachchan, a union rumoured to have been facilitated by none other than Amitabh Bachchan himself. The couple has four children – Bhim Bachchan, an investment banker; Nilima Bachchan, an aeronautical engineer; Namrata Bachchan, a photographer and poet; and Naina Bachchan, a banker-turned-artist married to Kunal Kapoor.
The family currently resides in London. In a surprising revelation on Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 15, Amitabh Bachchan credited Ajitabh for influencing his entry into the film industry.
Recounting the story, Amitabh shared, “I have a younger brother too, with a five-six year age gap… Most importantly, he’s the reason behind my entry into films. My brother was the first to tell me you must work in films. I was working in Kolkata. He clicked my pictures with great poses and sent them [to a contest]. However, I got rejected. But he was the one who planted that thought into my head. And I quit my job to do this,” as translated from Hindi to English, according to Outlook.
