A study published in the JAMA Network, speaks to the clinical potential of tau PET scans as an imaging tool used to diagnose and monitor neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer’s . The frequency of testing tau PET positive was less than 1% among those aged below 50 years, rising to 3% at 60 years and 19% when nearing 90 years. 

70% of WHO vaccines sourced from India

70% of WHO’s total vaccines are being sourced from India, claimed the Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel at the inaugural session of a policymakers’ forum, the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission. In her address, she also mentioned that India has retained the WHO’s Global Benchmarking Tool (GBT) framework, Maturity Level 3 (ML3) status.

Cancer detection 3 years ahead of time?

A blood test could detect cancer up to three years before symptoms appear, according to a study conducted at Johns Hopkins University. According to the university, the study which was published in Cancer Discovery demonstrated that the multicancer early detection (MCED) blood test could identify tumour-derived genetic material in blood samples.

41% Indians take up yoga, says survey

Over 41 per cent of the respondents have incorporated Yoga into their lifestyle a decade since the UN’s declaration of June 21 as the International Day of Yoga, according to a survey by the Ayush ministry titled ‘Impact Assessment of a Decade of International Day of Yoga’ . The survey included 30,084 households across 34 states and UTs.
