The Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme has officially opened its registration process, allowing young individuals across India to apply. The portal, accessible at pminternship.mca.gov.in, is now live, welcoming applications from 1 crore eligible youth as of 5 PM. Those who meet the criteria can complete their profiles online to take advantage of the scheme’s opportunities.

According to the official site: “The portal is now open for youth registration and profile creation starting today at 5 PM. Once registered and your profile is created, you will be notified of available internship opportunities via your registered email or mobile number. You may then choose from the offered internships.”

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the PM Internship Scheme, candidates must have completed at least a high school education and possess a certification from an ITI, a diploma from a Polytechnic Institute, or a degree such as BA, BSc, BCom, BCA, BBA, or BPharma. Applicants must be between 21 and 24 years old at the time of application.

Additionally, candidates must be Indian citizens, should not be engaged in full-time employment or full-time education, and may be enrolled in online or distance education courses.

Steps to Apply

1. Visit the official website: pminternship.mca.gov.in.

2. Scroll down the homepage and click the registration link to open the application form.

3. Enter the required details, upload necessary documents, and submit your application.

There is no fee to register or apply. Once the candidate provides their details, a resume will be generated automatically. Applicants can apply for up to five internships according to their preferences.

Stipend and Benefits

Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000 during the 12-month internship. This stipend is partly covered by the company’s CSR initiative, with Rs 500 contributed by the company and Rs 4,500 by the government.

Additionally, interns will receive a one-time financial support of Rs 6,000 for incidental expenses. The government will also ensure that interns are covered under schemes such as the ‘PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana’ and ‘PM Suraksha Bima Yojana’, with the insurance premiums paid by the government.
