Udaipur Assembly Elections 2023 LIVE Updates: BJP’s Tarachand Jain defeated Congress leader Gourav Vallabh by a margin of 32,771 votes. Tarachand Jain secured 97,466 votes, on the other hand, INC candidate Gourav Vallabh garnered 64,695 votes.
The final tally of Rajasthan results 2023 shows the BJP winning 115 seats out of the 199 where assembly elections took place. Udaipur constituency is one of the 200 constituencies in Rajasthan. Udaipur and Udaipur Rural are two constituencies under the Udaipur district along with four others.
Rajasthan assembly elections were conducted on 199 seats out of the 200 seats. The Election Commission of India rescheduled the elections for one remaining seat in Karanpur (Sriganganagar district) which was postponed due to the death of the Congress candidate.
Udaipur had a total voter turnout of 66.67 per cent and Udaipur Rural witnessed a voter turnout of 74.50 per cent during the assembly polls 2023.
In the 2018 assembly polls for Udaipur constituency, Gulab Chand Kataria from the BJP received a total of 74,808 votes and defeated Girija Vyas of the Congress party who had received a total vote of 65,484 votes. BJP won with 9,324 more votes.
BJP also secured a position in the Udaipur Rural constituency as its candidate Phool Singh Meena received 97,382 votes against Vivek Katara from the Congress party who received 78,675 votes. Phool Singh Meena had also secured this seat in the 2013 assembly polls.
In the 2023 assembly elections, BJP’s Tarachand Jain is named against Gourav Vallabh of Congress in the Udaipur constituency. For Udaipur Rural, Phool Singh Meena (BJP) stands against Dr. Vivek Katara (Congress).
Polls were held in Rajasthan on November 25, 2023, the results of which will be declared on December 3, 2023. The counting of votes begins in the state.
