The issue of whether dogs can be taken in elevators has been a point of dispute between pet owners and apartment residents across the country. Numerous clashes over this matter have been reported in recent times.

Many apartments in Noida have implemented policies barring dogs from using elevators, although pet owners argue that such directives are not legally enforceable. Apartment associations cite multiple instances of dog attacks in elevators as the reason behind these restrictions.

Last year, the Greater Noida administration fined a pet owner Rs 10,000 after his dog bit a six-year-old in an apartment elevator.
