A suspected Islamic State (IS) terrorist and two other terror suspects were arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell on Monday. The terrorist, Mohammad Shahnawaz alias Shafi Ujjama, was on the most wanted list of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and had a bounty of Rs 3 lakh on his head.
The arrests were made after an ISIS module in Delhi was revealed in a tip-off. The module was planning to carry out terror attacks in north India, including Delhi and Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir, based on instructions to execute a terror strike from foreign-based handlers.

Shahnawaz, an engineer by profession, was wanted in the Pune ISIS module case. He is a resident of Delhi and had escaped from Pune police custody. He was hiding in Delhi before being arrested.
All three terror suspects, including Shahnawaz, are currently being questioned.
During the interrogation, it was found that the suspects were allegedly planning a terror attack on the Ram Mandir in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya and Chabad House in Mumbai. Several top leaders were also on their target, AajTak reported.

Shahnawaz’s wife is also on the Special Cell’s radar.
Authorities recovered several incriminating materials, including a liquid chemical, which is used for making Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) from their possession on Monday.
