On Friday, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) granted Paytm Payments Bank Ltd (PPBL) an additional 15 days until March 15, 2024, to cease deposits, credit transactions, or top-ups in customer accounts, wallets, and FASTags. Kavita Chaudhary, known for her role in the famous Doordarshan serial "Udaan", passed away at a hospital due to a heart attack on Thursday night. She was 67 years old. A delegation of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) which visited West Bengal's Sandeshkhali to probe alleged harassment of women by TMC supporters has submitted its report to President Droupadi Murmu, officials said on Friday. Greece, the majority Orthodox Christian country, have legalised same-sex marriage by passing the bill in parliament. The decision hailed as a 'landmark victory' for human rights in Greece, was supported by 176 out of 300 lawmakers in parliament while 76 voted against the change.

Police reported that a fire erupted on the ground floor of a four-story building in Delhi's Shahdara, resulting in the death of one individual today. Upon receiving a fire call around 7:12 am today, a local police team, led by the Station House Officer, rushed to the location across from Moti Ram road.
The Delhi police have filed a case of culpable homicide against the owner of a paint factory located in Alipur, Delhi, where 11 individuals lost their lives in a fire on Thursday evening. The incident occurred at a paint factory in Dayal Market, Alipur, resulting in the deaths of 11 people and injuries to four others. The factory is owned by Akhil Jain, a resident of Sonipat, Haryana. A senior official from the Delhi police informed ANI that a case has been registered against Jain under IPC sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide). The Indian Highways Management Company Ltd (IHMCL), which manages toll collection for the state-owned NHAI, has recommended that highway travelers purchase FASTags from 32 authorized banks, excluding Paytm Payments Bank, to ensure smooth and hassle-free journeys. IHMCL shared a message on X, emphasizing the importance of obtaining FASTags from these authorized banks for convenience during travel. Among the 32 approved banks are Airtel Payments Bank, Allahabad Bank, Bank of Baroda, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, IDBI Bank, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India, and Yes Bank, among others.

The Manipur government took the decision to suspend internet services in the Churachandpur district for five days following outbreaks of violence related to actions taken against a policeman. The atmosphere in the district remained tense this morning, with reports of vandalism at the offices of the superintendent of police and the deputy commissioner. Additionally, vehicles belonging to the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) were set ablaze by a mob, and the national flag at the SP office complex was forcibly taken down, according to an official statement to PTI.
