The Chennai Metro Rail Ltd has introduced a new initiative of delivering QR tickets to the passengers via WhatsApp. So instead of tokens, passengers will get QR codes on the stations. Initially, this new ticketing system was launched at two Chennai Metro stations - namely Koyambedu and Airport. Now, it has been extended to all 41 stations.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch development projects exceeding Rs 19,100 crore in Bulandshahr, located in western Uttar Pradesh, according to officials. The inauguration will include the commencement of the 173-km-long double-line electrified section between New Khurja and New Rewari on the dedicated freight corridor (DFC). Through video conferencing, Modi will flag off goods trains from the two stations. Officials highlight the significance of this new DFC section, emphasizing its crucial role in establishing connectivity between the western and eastern freight corridors. Notably, the section is distinguished by a one-kilometer-long double-line rail tunnel featuring high-rise electrification, marking a pioneering engineering achievement and a first-of-its-kind globally.
