Union Minister for Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, conducted an inspection of the Wadi Bunder Coaching Depot in Maharashtra, highlighting several advancements aimed at improving train operations, safety, and passenger services.
Focus on IoT-Based Water Management System
During his visit, Vaishnaw reviewed the Internet of Things (IoT)-based water-level management system, which is expected to improve the monitoring and distribution of water in trains. This technology ensures effective resource management, especially during long journeys.
In addition to water-level management, innovations aimed at cleanliness and passenger comfort were showcased. These initiatives are part of Indian Railways’ broader efforts to enhance the onboard experience for travelers, ensuring both hygiene and convenience.
The Railway Minister also examined the AI-based identification system for detecting leakages. This cutting-edge technology will enable quicker maintenance interventions, contributing to safer and more reliable train services.
Vaishnaw’s review further included the Vande Bharat store, highlighting Indian Railways’ commitment to promoting the indigenous semi-high-speed trains. The store is dedicated to the upkeep and maintenance of these modern trains.
Safety and maintenance protocols were also under review, with a focus on ensuring that the highest standards are maintained for the well-being of passengers and operational efficiency.
