Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, has deployed over over 850 E-bus charging points in key metropolitan areas, the company announced on Tuesday.

With 144 charging points located across Mumbai in areas like Backbay, Worli, Malvani, and Shivaji Nagar-Mankhurd bus depots, TPREL has established a significant presence in cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Jammu, Srinagar, Dharwad, Lucknow, and Goa. Tata Power has enabled over 2,300 public e-buses nationwide, the company stated.

The bus charging network has successfully saved more than 1 lakh ton of tailpipe carbon dioxide emissions, according to the company. Tata Power has also designed and built various bus depots across the country.

Tata Power Renewable’s charging infrastructure features high-capacity fast chargers with a range of 180-240 KW, and an average charging time of 1 to 1.5 hours. These rapid charging capabilities support the demanding operational needs of public transport buses.

While Delhi leads in e-bus presence utilising Tata Power’s EV charging points, it is followed closely by Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Jammu, and Srinagar. Tata Power is dedicated to promoting e-mobility adoption and is fostering synergies with various OEM operators and state governments’ transport corporations, the company said.
