Weekends are all about downtime. After a week full of work to meet deadlines, everybody needs some breather to relax and recuperate. From watching a favourite web series to planning a vacation, weekends are designated as family and me time. Nitin Singhal, managing director, Sinch India talks to BrandWagon Online about his weekends, favourite vacation destination and more.
What is the one thing you like to do when not working?
While it’s hard to narrow down to just one activity, I find great satisfaction in reflecting on recent experiences. I assess whether my actions align with my values and consider ways to improve in the future. Additionally, I enjoy meeting people socially.
How do you spend your weekends?
Weekends are my time to recharge and take control of my schedule. They’re a mix of everything – extra gym time, catching up on reading, reflecting on life’s moments, and even some household chores. I always make it a point to cook breakfast for my family and savour some personal time. Some weekends are busy with tasks, while others are delightfully idle, both of which I find satisfying.
What are your favourite gadgets?
I am particularly fond of my Roland DJ-808 Console, which I strive to master whenever I find the time.
Given an option to choose another career, what would it be?
If given the chance, I would pursue a career in the Food & Beverage or Hospitality industry.
Which is your favourite vacation spot?
Though I have only had a few vacations recently, each destination holds a special place for me. However, my road trip to Leh & Ladakh with friends stands out. The scenic beauty of Zanskar, Khardung La, Thiksey Monastery, Chang La, Pangong Lake, and Nubra Valley is unparalleled. The grandeur of the Himalayas along the winding roads is both awe-inspiring and humbling, making it my top choice.
A TV show, a movie, and an ad campaign you highly recommend watching?
I highly recommend the TV show “Yellowstone” and its prequels “1883” and “1923”. “Jack Reacher” and its sequel “Jack Reacher: Never Go Back” are excellent choices for movies. As for ad campaigns, the timelessly entertaining and evolving “Fevicol” ads and “Amul” ads are highly recommended.
