Ahead of the launch, we got to unbox the OnePlus Pad Go 2 and check out everything the package has to offer.
The OnePlus Pad Go 2 will debut alongside the OnePlus 15R smartphone. The tablet will be available in two colourways, which include Shadow Black and Lavender Drift colourways, with sales set to begin from December 18 at 12 PM IST, just a day after the launch event.
OnePlus has also officially confirmed the core specifications and retail availability for the Pad Go 2, ahead of its official launch. The new tablet aims to improve the user experience with upgrades across the board, including a high refresh rate display, a powerful processor, and stylus support for the first time in the ‘Go’ series.
OnePlus Pad Go 2: Key specifications confirmed
The Pad Go 2 features a large 12.1-inch LCD with a fluid 120Hz refresh rate. It adopts a productivity-friendly 7:5 aspect ratio and an 88.5% screen-to-body ratio, with the display panel covering 98% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, and reaching a peak brightness of 900 nits in High Brightness Mode. It also includes support for Dolby Vision and has received the TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care 4.0 certification for reduced eye strain.
Under the hood, the tablet is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra octa-core chipset, built on a 4nm process. It will be paired with 8GB of LPDDR5x RAM and storage options of either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Powering the device is a larger 10,050mAh battery, which the company claims can provide up to 15 hours of continuous video playback or up to 60 days of standby time. The battery supports 33W SUPERVOOC wired charging and notably features wired reverse charging, allowing the tablet to charge other devices like smartphones.
OnePlus Pad Go 2 features and connectivity:
– The OnePlus Pad Go 2 will be the first in the budget series to support a stylus. Called the Pad Go 2 Stylo, the stylus is reported to support fast charging.
– It comes pre-loaded with Open Canvas, the advanced split-screen multitasking feature first introduced with the OnePlus Open foldable phone.
– Crucially, the tablet will offer 5G support. However, note that this advanced cellular capability will be exclusive to the Shadow Black variant.
While official pricing remains under wraps, industry analysts expect a price hike over the original Pad Go’s Rs 19,999 starting price. Hence, the Pad Go 2 could cost between Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000. The launch happens a month after the release of the OnePlus 15 flagship in the country.
