Word-of-mouth (WOM) has long been a critical measure of a brand’s influence. Consumers rely on recommendations, making WOM a key indicator of engagement. YouGov’s October 2024 data reveals the brands in India that saw the largest growth in WOM metrics, offering insights into changing consumer conversations.

LG recorded the highest increase in WOM scores with a 5-point change. Tata Motors followed closely with a 4.9-point surge, likely reflecting sustained consumer interest in its offerings. Whirlpool, Bajaj Electronics, and Flipkart also reported significant gains, each recording a 4.7 to 4.8-point change during the month.

Other brands on the list included Maggi, Jeep, iPhone, Philips, and Harpic Toilet Cleaner, with changes ranging from 3.9 to 4.4 points. The data, compiled by YouGov BrandIndex, was collected from Indian adults aged 18 years and above between October 1 and October 31, 2024. Scores were calculated using a four-week moving average, comparing the highest and lowest points for each brand during the period.

The rankings underscore the dynamic nature of consumer engagement, with brands experiencing shifts in WOM scores influenced by campaigns, product launches, or seasonal factors. Whether these trends persist will depend on how effectively these brands sustain conversations among consumers.
