In good news for passengers, Lufthansa Group has launched a direct service from Bengaluru to Munich in Germany. The services will start from November 4, the airlines said in a statement.
Lufthansa’s strong commitment
“Alongside Delhi and Mumbai, Bengaluru is the third Indian city with a direct connection for travelers via Lufthansa’s 5 star Munich hub”, the statement said. Notably, Bengaluru is the first destination that was included in Luftansa’s network after the Covid pandemic.
By January 24, 2024, the airline will operate 64 weekly frequencies between India and Europe. Speaking about the addition of Bengaluru on it’s network, Lufthansa said that the latest addition shows the airline’s strong commitment in India.
“This Bengaluru-Munich service represents Lufthansa’s strong commitment to the Indian market as Lufthansa Group’s capacity to India now exceeds pre-COVID levels”, it added further. Sharing more details, Lufthansa Group Senior Director – South Asia, George Ettiyil noted, “We have been invested in India for more than 90 years and when looking for our first new APAC destination since the pandemic, Bengaluru was a natural fit.”
Most modern and fuel-efficient long-haul aircraft
Providing further details the airline expressed hope that flyers will have a great experience in Airbus A350-900, which is one of the most modern and fuel-efficient long-haul aircraft. With the inclusion of Bengaluru, it has become the third city in the country to connect with Munich via the Lufthansa network, after Delhi and Mumbai.
Also, Munich is the fifth city in Europe which has direct connectivity with Bengaluru. Other destinations include London, Frankfurt, Paris, and Amsterdam. Earlier in April, the airline had announced that it would start two flights, one of which would be from Munich to Bengaluru and the other from Frankfurt to Hyderabad. The flight from Frankfurt to Hyderabad has not yet started and the operations may start in some time.
