Even though the Congress rejected its demand for unconditional apology from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and party chief Sonia Gandhi for the government?s affidavits in the Supreme Court on Lord Ram, the BJP on Friday stuck to its stand and claimed withdrawal of affidavits is just an outcome of ?Hindu outrage?.
Without indulging himself into the controversy Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, ?Since the matter has been immediately rectified, there can be only kudos and not criticism.?
The BJP, however, in its bid to keep the issue alive for obvious political reasons, said, the withdrawal of affidavits did not diminish the seriousness of the issue.
