Vedanta investors are in for another dividend update this month. As of the latest development, the mining giant has lined up a key board meeting on Thursday, August 21. The directors will decide on a second interim dividend for the current financial year (FY26).

Vedanta Dividend: Board meeting on August 21
Vedanta has officially announced that its board will meet on August 21 to consider and approve the second interim dividend. The outcome of this meeting will decide how much cash flows back to shareholders in the second quarter of FY26.
Vedanta Dividend: Record date is August 27
The company has fixed Wednesday, August 27 as the record date for identifying eligible shareholders. Under India’s T+1 settlement cycle, only investors who own Vedanta shares by Tuesday, August 26 will be entitled to the dividend, if approved.
Vedanta Dividend: First interim dividend already paid
This will be Vedanta’s second payout in FY26. Earlier in June, the company announced a first interim dividend of Rs 7 per share, distributing around Rs 2,737 crore to shareholders.
Vedanta Dividend: Dividend record
Vedanta paid out Rs 43.5 per share in the FY25 alone. This amounted to over Rs 16,798 crore.
Prior to this, the company declared Rs 101.5 per share in FY23, translating into a Rs 37,572 crore payout.
Vedanta Dividend: Recent financial performance
Coming to the financial health of the company, in the June quarter (Q1FY26), Vedanta’s profit slipped 12% year-on-year to Rs 3,185 crore, even as revenue rose nearly 6% to Rs 37,824 crore.
The company’s EBITDA stood flat at Rs 9,918 crore. Similarly, the margins narrowed slightly. Net debt was reported at Rs 58,220 crore.
Vedanta share performance
Vedanta’s share price has been trading higher by 2% today. Looking at recent performance, the stock has gained about 3% in the past five sessions and is up 6% over the last six months. On a one-year basis, Vedanta shares have seen only a marginal uptick of around 1%. The year-to-date (YTD) performance in 2025 has also been flat, with a gain of just 1%. The company currently commands a market capitalisation of around Rs 1.75 lakh crore. Its 52-week high stands at Rs 526.95, while the 52-week low is at Rs 363.
