The global markets are trading on a higher note. The GIFT Nifty is trading 5 points or 0.02% higher at 24,955. Here are domestic as well as key global cues to watch before the market opens that include crude oil prices, FII and DII data, business groups that most affect, sectoral performance, etc.

Earlier on Wednesday, the NSE Nifty 50 closed the session 225 points or 0.92% higher at 24,836, while the BSE Sensex rose 715 points or 0.89% to close at 80,983.

Key global and domestic cues to know on October 03, 2025

US Markets

The US markets closed Thursday’s trade on a record high note as investors shrugged off concerns tied to a U.S. government shutdown that had entered its second day. The S&P 500 inched up 0.06% to close at 6,715.35. It was up 0.3% at the day’s peak, reaching a fresh all-time intraday high. The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 78.62 points, or 0.17%, to finish the day at 46,519.72, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.39% to finish at 22,844.05.

Asian Markets

The Asian markets were trading on a higher note on Friday morning, following the overnight gains on Wall Street. Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 0.42% at the open, while the Topix index was up 0.35%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index was set to open slightly lower, with its futures contract trading at 27,273, against the index’s previous close of 27,287.12. Chinese and South Korean markets were closed for holidays.

US Dollar 

The US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the dollar’s value against a basket of six foreign currencies, was trading flat at 97.90 on Friday morning. The index evaluates the strength or weakness of the US dollar in comparison to major currencies. The basket contains currencies such as the British Pound, Euro, Swedish Krona, Japanese Yen, Swiss Franc, etc. The rupee appreciated 0.11% to close at 88.69 to the dollar on October 01. 

Crude Oil

The crude oil prices traded on a higher note on Friday morning. WTI crude prices were trading at $60.78, up by 0.50%, while Brent crude prices were trading at $64.43, a rise of 0.51%. 

FII, DII Data

Foreign institutional investors (FII) were the net sellers of shares worth Rs 1,605.20 crore. On the other hand, the Domestic institutional investors (DII) were the net buyers of shares worth Rs 2,916.14 crore on October 01, 2025, according to the provisional data available on the NSE.

Gold Rate Today 

The rate for 24-carat gold today is Rs 117,630 per 10 grams, trading near its all-time high. The safe haven’s price is trading above the Rs 1 lakh mark. The price of gold has risen by 2.86% over the past one week. The 22 kt gold rate today is Rs 107,828 per 10 grams. The 18-carat gold price today is Rs 88,223.
