Gold and silver rates today, September 30

The 24-carat gold rate in India was Rs 75,180 per 10 grams on September 30. The rate for 24-carat gold per gram is Rs 7,518. The rate of 22-carat gold was Rs 68,915 per 10 grams.

The rate of 24-carat gold has risen by 1.63% in the last one week, and the yellow metal has risen by 1.90% in the last ten days. The silver is currently quoted at Rs 91,380 per kilogram.

Experts on Gold Outlook

Commenting on the gold outlook Jateen Trivedi, VP Research Analyst – Commodity and Currency, LKP Securities said that Gold prices remained relatively flat to weak, hovering near $2665 in Comex, down by $8, while in MCX, there was minor profit booking around Rs 76,100, with a decline of Rs 150. This pullback comes after a strong rally in gold prices earlier this week, where prices surged by Rs 1,300 or 1.75%, mainly driven by the liquidity easing from the Fed’s policy decision on 18th September 2024.

Trivedi also added that In the MCX, support is seen around Rs 75,000-Rs 75,200, while resistance lies near Rs 76,400-Rs 76,650, as profit booking continues after the recent surge.

UBS on Gold 

UBS continues to highlight gold’s hedging qualities, maintaining that it remains attractive for long-term portfolio protection. In their latest report, the firm recommends that a diversified USD-denominated portfolio should include a 5% allocation to gold, serving as a broad hedge against market risks.

The report further indicates a tactical preference for gold mines, though UBS emphasizes that this is more of a short-term, opportunistic call. The overall message from UBS remains clear: gold offers valuable diversification and protection, making it a vital component of a well-rounded investment strategy.

Gold rate in Mumbai on September 30
