Gold and silver rates today, September 13

The 24-carat gold rate in India was Rs 73,020 per 10 grams on September 13. The rate for 24-carat gold per gram is Rs 7,302. The rate of 22-carat gold was Rs 66,935 per 10 grams.

The rate of 24-carat gold has risen by 2% in the last one week, and the yellow metal has risen by 2.14% in the last ten days. The silver currently quotes at Rs 86,860 per kilogram.

“Yesterday, spot gold closed with a loss of 0.20% at $2411 on mixed US CPI data (August). Headline August US CPI was up 0.2% MoM, and up 2.5% YoY, down from 2.90% in July. Both the estimates were in line with the forecasts; however, core CPI rose 0.3% MoM Vs forecast of  0.2%. The US yields recovered on the mixed data. Today’s US data on tap include PPI (August) and jobless claims. Markets will closely monitor PPI data as this data forms a part of PCE data. The European Central Bank may cut rates by 25 bps at its monetary policy meeting today. Overall, gold continues to trade in a familiar range,” said Praveen Singh, Associate Vice President of Fundamental Currencies and Commodities at Sharekhan by BNP Paribas.

Gold rate in Mumbai on September 13

The glittering metal was quoted for a price of Rs 73,020/10 grams in Mumbai on September 13. On September 12, the price of gold was Rs 72,100/10 grams. Seven days back, on September 06, gold was trading for Rs 71,580/10 grams.

Silver rate in Mumbai on September 13

The shining metal silver was selling for a rate of Rs 86,860/Kg on September 13 in Mumbai. A day ago, the metal was priced at Rs 84,240/Kg and a week ago the price was Rs 82,590/Kg.

MCX Futures on September 13 

The gold MCX futures contracts with the expiry of October 2024 were quoted for Rs 73180 per 10 gm, an increase of Rs 356. While the futures contracts for silver with the September 2024 expiry on MCX futures were trading at Rs 87,485 per kg, an increase of Rs 390.
