Meta-owned X rival is introducing an edits button available for all users. It allows users to edit a post till five minutes after it has been published, and post five minutes, the ability to do so disappears. Moreover, it works on both mobile apps (Android, iOS) and the web.
After the feature was announced by Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg on Thursday, many users took to Threads to share opinions on the same. One post noted, “It took a decade for Twitter to get an edit button, [however], it took Threads less than a year.”

As someone who has used both X and its rival Threads, needless to say, we make mistakes while drafting these posts and there’s no other way to fix them than paying a monthly to fix our mistakes. But Instagram Threads deserve some appreciation for making it available for all users and free.
It differs from X’s edit button in two ways: first and foremost, it’s free and secondly, the edited history button doesn’t appear which may be a pro for poster-side and but maybe a disadvantage for followers or viewers. The Verge says that a Meta spokesperson told publication that the company doesn’t plan to add one anytime soon.

Notably, Meta also has a paid bluecheck programme called Meta Verified. It was announced after Twitter, now X introduced Twitter Blue in October 2022 shortly after Elon Musk took over.
This isn’t the only update. Meta-owned Threads has also introduced voice posts on Threads recently and the feature is now available to all. Additionally, it also generates captions [automatically] as you speak. One should mention that this feature “audio tweets” was introduced first on Twitter in 2020 and it took nearly a year to support captions.
