The 2026 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas has officially been about redefining the laptop this year, especially in the era of AI. No longer just portable computers, the latest machines from Samsung, Dell, and HP have evolved into AI workstations capable of massive on-device processing. From Samsung’s record-breaking Galaxy Book6 to Dell’s triumphant return of the XPS brand, here are some of the launches that stole the show at the CES 2026 in Las Vegas this year.

Samsung Galaxy Book6 series

Samsung dominated the headlines with the global debut of the Galaxy Book6 series, featuring the Galaxy Book6 Ultra, Pro, and standard models. At the heart of the series is the Intel Core Ultra Series 3, the first client chip built on the new Intel 18A process. This allows for a 50 TOPS NPU, enabling features like real-time background removal and instant note summarisation to happen entirely on-device.

The Ultra and Pro models now boast an industry-leading 30 hours of video playback. They feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and a 75% reduction in reflection thanks to new Gorilla Glass DXC. The Ultra variant can be configured with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 or 5060 GPUs, making it a direct competitor to the MacBook Pro for high-end creators.

The Return of the Dell XPS

After a confusing year of “Premium” branding, Dell has officially brought back the XPS 14 and XPS 16. Responding to user feedback, Dell has reinstated a physical function row (replacing the touch bar) and added an XPS logo to the lid.

At just 14.6mm thin and weighing only 3 lbs, the XPS 14 is thinner and lighter than its MacBook Pro counterparts while offering an optional 40-hour battery life on LCD configurations.

HP OmniBook Ultra

HP took the lead in the “AI Specs” race with the OmniBook Ultra 14. With 85 TOPS NPU of the Snapdragon X2 Elite, HP claims this is the world’s most powerful consumer AI laptop, capable of running multiple local AI models simultaneously without a hint of lag. HP’s new EliteBook X G2 series allows buyers to choose between Intel, AMD, or Qualcomm processors within the same chassis, a first for the industry.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16:

For gamers, ASUS stole the show with the redesigned ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16. These are among the first laptops to feature the RTX 5090 Laptop GPU. The new 16-inch OLED panels hit 1,100 nits of peak brightness with a 240Hz refresh rate, setting a new bar for gaming visuals.

LG Gram Pro

LG introduced a proprietary material called Aeronium (a magnesium-aluminium alloy) to create the world’s lightest RTX laptop. Despite having a 17-inch screen and an RTX 5050 GPU, it remains light enough to hold with two fingers, making it the ultimate choice for digital nomads.

The LG Gram Pro 17  is being touted as the world’s lightest 17-inch laptop with a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 with 8GB of GDDR7 memory. It weighs in at just 1.37 kg, which is lighter than many 13-inch professional laptops. You get a 17-inch WQXGA (2560 x 1600) LCD with a variable refresh rate of 31Hz to 144Hz.

The LG Gram Pro 16 features a 2.8K (2880 x 1800) OLED display with a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. As far as the weight is concerned, It sets a new record at 1.19 kg. Battery life is rated for up to 27 hours of video playback on a single charge.
