Meta, the company behind Facebook, is trying a new method to build apps faster. This method is called vibe coding. It helps product managers create simple app versions using AI tools. Instead of waiting for developers to write code, ideas can be turned into working demos very quickly.
“PMs are actually vibe coding products, and we’re showing them to Mark Zuckerberg and leadership, and it’s allowing us to iterate and explore the space really fast,” said Joseph Spisak, a product director in Meta’s Superintelligence Labs (MSL), onstage at the TechEquity AI Summit in Sunnyvale, California recently.
With vibe coding, people explain what they want the app to do in plain words. The AI then helps create a basic version of the app. This makes it easier to test ideas early.
Saving Time in App Development
Normally, building an app takes a lot of time. Teams have to plan, code, test, and fix problems. Vibe coding shortens this process. Early versions of apps can be made in just a few days or even hours.
This helps teams try more ideas without wasting time. If an idea does not work, it can be dropped quickly. If it looks promising, the team can improve it further.
More People Can Build Ideas
Vibe coding allows people who are not programmers to build simple apps. Product managers and designers can now take part in creating prototypes. They no longer need to depend fully on engineers in the early stage.
This helps teams share ideas more clearly and work better together.
Engineers Are Still Important
Even though vibe coding is useful, it cannot replace developers. The apps made using AI are basic and not ready for real users. Engineers are still needed to make apps safe, stable, and strong enough for large numbers of users.
AI helps start the process, but humans finish the job.
What This Means for the Future?
Vibe coding shows how AI is changing the way apps are made. In the future, more people may be able to turn ideas into apps quickly. This could make product development faster and more creative than before.
