Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu has shared an update on Arattai, the messaging app made by Zoho. The app was launched as an Indian option to popular chat apps. After staying quiet for some time, Sridhar Vembu has now explained what Zoho plans to do with Arattai.

Responding to an X user’s question about why the app hasn’t been “talked much about now,” Vembu revealed that the team is actively working on new and significant updates, and that the company intends to market it more widely once they are satisfied with the feature set. “We are doing updates weekly. We are working on some very important features,” Vembu wrote in an X post. “We will market it more once we feel we are satisfied with the feature set! This is a marathon. We are geared for it,” he added.

Taking Things Slowly

Sridhar Vembu said that Arattai is not being built for quick success. Zoho wants to take its time and improve the app step by step. New features are being worked on every week, but the company does not want to rush or promote the app before it is fully ready.

Zoho believes that good products take time. Instead of focusing on download numbers, the company is focusing on making the app stable, safe, and useful.

Why Arattai Was Not in the News?

When Arattai was first launched, many people downloaded it out of curiosity. It got a lot of attention at the start. But after some time, people stopped talking about it, and the app was not seen much in the news.

This made some users wonder if Zoho had stopped working on it. Sridhar Vembu clarified that this is not true. The team chose to work quietly and improve the app in the background.

What Changes Are Coming?

Arattai already allows users to send messages, make calls, and create groups. However, many users felt that some features were missing or needed improvement.

Zoho has started fixing these issues. The company has added stronger security to protect user chats. It is also working on better photo and video sharing, smoother performance, and easier group management.

In the future, Arattai may also work more closely with other Zoho apps, which could be helpful for office teams and small businesses.

What This Means for Arattai?

Sridhar Vembu made it clear that Zoho has not given up on Arattai. The company believes Indian apps can succeed if they are built carefully and honestly.

Arattai is still improving, and the coming months will show how well it grows. While it may not become popular overnight, Zoho hopes it will slowly earn the trust of users who want a simple and secure messaging app.
