Spotify is planning to give a bump up to its music platform. The music streaming company is reportedly preparing to launch a new Superpremium, according to code discovered in the app by Chris Messina. The new tier is expected to offer a number of features beyond the existing premium plan, including 24-bit lossless audio quality, AI playlist generation tools, advanced mixing tools and more.

Messina on X posted the features of this rumoured Superpremium tier. It includes a “sound capsule” which is a personalised offering, 20-30 hours of audiobook listening, mood, activity, and genre-based filtering options and 24-bit lossless audio. Spotify revealed the plans to launch a super premium service almost a year ago. It was previously called Spotify Hi-Fi tier.

Spotify has been thick and fast with updates, especially in past few months. The company last month, ahead of International Podcast Day, launched auto-generated and time-synced transcripts to more creators and shows. It wants to make transcripts more visually and textually accessible with this new feature.

“We’ll be rolling out transcripts to millions of episodes in the coming weeks, and we’ll innovate more on this feature in the future, including ways to add media to transcripts,” said the company.
