According to Android Police Google messages will bring a ‘STOP’ button which can unsubscribe RCS messages from businesses. Here’s how this initiative works and can impact your google message user experience.
Google to bring ‘STOP’ button
Google Messages v20241125_04 beta is working on a ‘STOP’ button to help users unsubscribe from RCS messages from businesses, which users often consider RCS ad spam. So, how does the new feature work? Initially, you add to select every spam message and block them. But now with the stop button you can block such calls at just one click.
Now, the ‘’STOP’ button will automatically show up on RBM chats. You just need to click it and it will block/stop the incoming of such ads and messages. Basically, it’s a dedicated ‘STOP’ button to help users unsubscribe from RCS Business Messages (RBM).
Google Messages is our go-to RCS messaging app and has great features . The app offers a variety of modern messaging solutions, such as the likes of read receipts, group chats, typing indicators and end-to-end-encryption, among. However, the app also comes with some loopholes. In certain regions, many “verified” businesses have been using RCS to spam users with unsolicited advertisements. There has been a rising RCS ad spam issue on Google Messages which users often consider RCS ad spam. So, to stop this,the tech giant will be bringing the ‘stop’ button.

After clicking on the ‘Stop’ button, you will receive one last message from the sender. This is to let you know that the RBM has been taken off the messaging list. In addition to this you can also get back on the business message list by texting ‘START.’
In other news, Google Chat has introduced a new feature called Huddles. The feature is powered by Google Meet. Huddles allows you to initiate informal meetings directly from Chat. The feature starts with an audio call by default. However, you can always switch to video or share your screen during the conversation.
