About Hital Meswani and his relationship with Mukesh Ambani
Hital Meswani, Mukesh Ambani’s nephew and Rasiklal Meswani and Trilochana Ben’s son, began working for RIL in 1990 and has been on the Reliance board since 1995. For the unversed, Trilochana was the older sister of RIL’s founder, Dhirubhai Ambani.
Hital Meswani’s career
Hital Meswani has played a crucial role to make Reliance successful. He is behind the completion of several Reliance megaprojects – The Hazira petrochemicals and Jamnagar refinery complexes. Reliance Industries’ refinery and all other production facilities are under the direction of Hital Meswani, as per DNA.
That’s not all, he has been registered as a director of Reliance Petroleum Limited by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA). Four of the eight businesses that Hital Meswani is currently managing are Reliance Petroleum Limited, Reliance Commercial Dealers Limited, Reliance Industrial Investments And Holdings Limited, and the Indian Film Combine Pvt. Ltd.
Hital Meswani’s education
As per the company’s website, Hital Meswani is a Management & Technology graduate from the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) in the USA. He went to the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, UPenn to pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering. He also has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from the Wharton Business School.
Hital Meswani’s salary
Hital Meswani’s remuneration for 2021-22 was Rs 24 crore, which was the same as his brother Nihkil Meshwani. The brothers are the top paid executives at Reliance Industries.
About Mukesh Ambani’s salary
Mukesh Ambani capped his annual compensation at Rs 15 crore from financial year 2008-09 (April 2008 to March 2009) to FY20, and since FY21, he has chosen to forgo his salary due to the COVID-19 pandemic until the company and all of its businesses were fully back to their earning potential. Mukesh Ambani has not received a salary or profit-based commission for three years in a row, starting in FY21.
