British celebrity chef and restaurateur Gordon Ramsay, has an offering for his fans once again, this time with a frying pan, a generous amount of butter, and his signature flair. In a viral Instagram reel that has garnered over 14 million views, the Michelin-starred chef demonstrated what he described as the “art” of frying eggs to perfection.

The video, which quickly gained traction among home cooks and professionals alike, showcases Ramsay’s method of preparing eggs using foaming butter and a medley of sauces. The clip opens with the chef cracking two eggs into a sizzling, oil-coated pan with a cube of butter already melting.

“Eggs to die for. First off, a touch of oil, butter into the pan, get your eggs, crack on a flat surface, open them up and into the pan. Again, into the pan [goes the second],” Ramsay narrates as he walks viewers through each step.

He continues by seasoning the eggs with black pepper, sea salt, and a pinch of chilli flakes, after which he explains the importance of the butter technique. “Once you’ve got that butter foaming, roll the pan around and that foaming butter cooks the egg white beautifully. And when you roll them around like that, it sort of almost floods the centre of that egg with that foaming butter.”

Ramsay notes that a perfectly cooked egg requires finesse and attention. “I love the ends nice and crispy. I like all the white beautifully cooked.” To finish, he adds a drizzle of sriracha and Worcestershire sauce before turning off the flame, letting the residual heat complete the cooking process.

“And then from there, just turn the gas off, and the remaining heat in this pan will continue cooking those eggs.”
